It’s easy to miss this place when driving between Caernarfon and Beddgelert. A big mistake! You might pass it by because it’s not actually an inn – and you’ll no doubt be concentrating on Snowdonia’s spectacular scenery. But the lucky ones who stop off are in for a surprise. The B&B’s modest front door opens up into an enchanting maze of cosy rooms whose extent belies the property’s external appearance. And you’ll be greeted by Joanne and Nigel Marsh-Smith, an extremely hospitable couple who know how to look after their guests. Betws Inn is full of character. At one time the village pub and coaching inn, it has been converted into a charming home which preserves the old inn’s rugged fabric while offering all modern comforts. It’s a gem – and great value. The location is great too, in the foothills of Snowdonia and within a short drive of Caernarfon.
